Today we're happy to announce the release of v1.0.0 of the Anthology website application, widely available now on any device!
With the website application of Anthology, we're aiming to deliver a quality experience to our Portfolios feature for our growing community and user-base on a broader range of devices.
Portfolios is Anthology's unique feature for designing and developing your brand as a photographer and creator. With Portfolios, you can craft and create a brand image that is exclusive to you and your vision as an artist by uploading photos to various different albums.
What's even better is that Portfolios is completely free to use on Anthology, and comes packed with unlimited availability. That means that you can create as many Portfolios as you would like on your Profile, AND store as many images as you want in each album. All for free!
Throughout the Anthology journey, we've strived to deliver this experience to our user-base on a range of different devices. We initially launched Portfolios exclusively on the Anthology mobile app, that was available only on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
However, today, we're happy to announce that now Portfolios is accessible on the web as well.
Yes!
Any Portfolios that are uploaded or edited on the web app are automatically reflected on your mobile app Profile as well. And vice versa!
It was really important for us to develop and launch Portfolios on the web as this is a critical portal for photographers and creators alike.
Most, if not all, photographers upload their photos to higher-end devices such as desktops and laptops (whether that be PCs or Macs). This is done because these devices offer more storage, and support the software that photographers use for editing their images.
While we found it really important to launch a mobile experience for Anthology, we knew that it was even more important to provide a means for photographers to create and update their Portfolios using a website application. This cuts down on the time and the headache of transferring images to your phone for upload.
In the future of the Anthology web app, we aim to continue to improve the uploading experience for photographers through the Portfolios feature.
In the coming months, we will be working on developing additional features and improvements to Portfolios. Some of these ideas include:
At the moment, this is where our focus is intended with the web app. Features such as Explore, Flash Challenges, and Social will remain exclusively available on the mobile application unless and until our user-base requests these features be brought to the web as well.
We are really excited to be launching this brand new experience for the Anthology community today. There are still a number of improvements and fixes that we will be rolling out in the days ahead, but we look forward to what you think about the experience.
What new Portfolios will you share on the web?
